JEC (All-day Schools)

Before 70's years, Schools in Chile were JEC (Jornada Escolar Completa)
Most of them, schools started the classes at 8:00 to 12:00 and back to 14:00 to 17:00 or 18:00

In 80's years, Schools, with no JEC, were getting smarter ¿HOW?
Some public schools, from-1st-to-4th-grades students had classes (Mon-Fri) from 14:00 to 19:00
and from-5th-to-8th-grades students had classes (Mon-Fri) from8:00 to 13:00
And from-9th-to-12th-grades Students had some "crazy-time" classes, E.G., they, someday, had classes from 9:00 to 11:00 and back to 15:00 to 17:00.

In 90's years and NOWADAYS, JEC schools are taking over again but, How can it end up?
In most of schools in Chile, Classes start (Mon-Fri) at 8:00 to 13:00 and back from 14:00 to 17:15, JEC is all schools, public, subsidied and private schools.

Is there some break within all day long?
Yes, there're 3 breaks (15 min each one) 2 in the morning and one in the afternoon.

How do students have lunch?
They have lunch at the such school, given by JUNAEB (Nation's helping Board) Lunch in schools is FREE. But universities don't give FREE lunch, this is one of the factors that causes more spends in the Higher education.

Why does Chilean Education Board agree the JEC?
Because, Chile's President in 90's, PAtricio Aylwin, agreed that because students would be learning more MEANWHILE parents would go to work normally.
But some rumors are circulationg around that, he agreed the JEC in order to make the students so busy and so they couldn't come into the drug and alcohol world.

But this measure has its consecuences:
Chilean students tend to be on stress why?
Because they are studying from 8:00 to 17:15 and they receive HOMEWORKS TO DO, time from 17:15 to bedtime.

Is this an explosion to Students? What do you thing is it correct to make student do homework after going to school all day and all noon long?

Greeting.
